The Farmers Market Pavilion Steward is an exciting new position that will lead the operational design, development, and implementation of the Farmers Market Pavilion and provide oversight of Eugene’s downtown programming portfolio. Serving as part of the City of Eugene's Cultural Services Team, the Farmers Market Pavilion Steward's leadership will sew the seeds of success for the community’s access and opportunities at the site.

The Lane County Farmers Market Pavilion is one of the anchors of our community; a place where we can not only buy fresh, local produce, but also a space where we can meet up with a friend or run into a neighbor. The new Farmers Market Pavilion and Plaza will not only support this beloved institution, but it will also provide the Eugene community a place to gather, celebrate and make their own.

Overview of Position Duties: 

Provide operational design, development, direction and vision for the Farmer’s Market Pavilion and downtown arts, culture and community-based programming. 

Lead the development of the Farmers Market Pavilion daily, evening and weekend operations and oversee downtown public space programming. 

Responsible for growth and development of relationships with the Farmers Market, City of Eugene divisions and with stakeholders, clients and community groups. 

Requires management, supervisory, facilitation and leadership skills (2 years) and experience managing indoor or outdoor gathering spaces or venues. 

Oversees one full time downtown program coordinator and up to seven part-time support staff. 

Participates in collaborative work groups and peer to peer relationships central to the operations of downtown Eugene. 

Commitment to creating a high functioning venue and developing earned revenue streams while advancing equity and fostering a culture of belonging.

Minimum Qualifications

*Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job will be considered.

Training & Education:

Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in recreation, human services, or a closely related field. 

Experience: 

At least two (2) years professional venue management experience.

Salary: $65,104.00 - $84,2400.00 Annually
